Place, Pause And Plans = Season of rest
I don’t know about you, but when we get to the end of the year we sometimes feel the stressors of the year from our life and leadership. The adrenaline wears of, the reality of what was a busy year sometimes leaves us depleted of peace and energy. Coming to the end of the year and it’s always good to take stock of what was the year.
Taking stock of this year and looking into the new year as we launch into a year of empowerment, what is God whispering for this year to come.
1. God is calling us to Lead out of a place of rest.
How can we lead out of a place of rest going into what’s called the crazy season of family, wrap up and start up mode. A Season of rest and renewal , If we are called to Love the lord with all your …. Luke 10:27 Spirit , Soul and Mind
Q) How can we do this in our soul and spirit connection?
2. Coming into this season of Christmas God is calling us to have a:
1. Season of communication with himself
2. Season of connection with himself
God calls us to take time, take a season to rest and renew in Him – It’s ok to rest, It’s ok to stop, It’s ok to put down all the visions, dreams and plans to have a nourishment season to grow stronger.
The more we be silent, sabbath and solitude the more we will find peace in the pace of this world.
3. Finding Gods peace in place, pauses and plans:
1. Place :
Mark 6:31 And He said to them, [As for you] come away by yourselves to a deserted place, and rest a while–for many were [continually] coming and going, and they had not even leisure enough to eat.
This passage shows us that in the busyness of “coming and going”, Jesus calls us to come away, by ourselves to a deserted place so we can hear Gods voice and rest. God is calling you and I to:
– by yourself come and sit at the fathers feet to rest and renew in Him.
– deserted places so that we can be still and know that He is God.
– no distractions so that we can clearly hear him with no noise.
2. Pause :
Matthew 11: 28-30 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.] Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.
It’s ok to push the pause button over this next few months. You see Jesus shows us that when we come to him, let him take full control, take his yoke then we truly find rest. Pressing pause is the healthy way to be nourished as we come to Him, cast our burdens and care on Him, take His yoke so we can experience Him in a FRESH new way.
– come to him
– heavy Laden , overburdened
– take my yoke
– let go of the control
– pause in a new way/ experience God
3. Plans :
Psalm 23 1 The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. 3 He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever. –
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
When we meet the Shepard, rest in Him, he grows our root system in him so we become like the tree planted by still waters in Psalm 1. When we take the time to meditate on Him, he clarifies all the noise and distractions to help us see the clear paths and plans he has for us to walk. It’s within the season of meditation in Him do we find the true plans he has for us as he makes the paths straight.
– meet the Shepard
– planted grounded in God dig deep roots to sustain you in Christ.
– meditate on him and then he will give you the plans
This season as you wind up for the year, take some much needed time to discover God in the place, pause and plans.
